Set in Lagos, Nigeria, the film follows Bola Ogun, a dedicated counsellor who brokers reconciliation sessions between convicts and their victims. When her own daughter is murdered, she too must confront what it means to forgive.

The Ghost And The House Of Truth is the Opening Film for Film Africa 2020 and will be screened at the BFI Southbank on 30 October.

Akin Omotoso
Akin Omotoso studied drama at The University of Cape Town. His debut feature film was God Is African in 2003. He followed that up in 2011 with the award winning Man On Ground (official selection to Toronto and Berlin and Africa Magic Viewer Choice Award Best Director). His latest film The Ghost And The House Of Truth recently won Best World Narrative Feature at The UrbanWorld Film Festival in New York and Best Actress, Best Nigerian Film and Best Director at The African International Film Festival in Lagos. In 2020, “The Untitled Akin Omotoso Project” was named as one of Netflix’s First African Original Series.
