Dir. Akin Omotoso
Nigeria, South Africa. 2017. 55 mins.
Omotoso’s bold experiment with tone and visual poetics is immersive and largely silent. In a stripped back performance Nse Ikpe-Etim softens into the carefully crafted soundscape and cinematography. Set in Lagos, Zanzibar, and Cape Town, we follow Lola as she grapples with an immense sense of failure from a broken marriage.
Akin Omotoso was born in Ibadan, Nigeria. He studied drama at the University of Cape Town. His directorial credits include God is African, Man on Ground, Wole Soyinka: Child of the Forest, Tell Me Sweet Something, Vaya, Colour of Wine.
