The African Film Commission (AFC) is the official organization that
promotes the economic development and integration of the African film industry
by working with the African Union (AU), states and Regional Economic Communities
(RECs)/Regions for the establishment and networking of film commissions in Africa to assist visiting filmmakers and local filmmakers tell stories that present the rich and divers African culture through film, television arts and new media for Africa's socio-economic and cultural development.
The African Film Commission was created to position Africa in the global film and television industries. Africa's wealth of unique stories and outstanding locations, it's growing infrastructure of high quality productions services and technicians, and it's conducive environment for foreign business and investment makes Africa an attractive location for the development, production and distribution of film, television, music and other alternative content.
The African Film Commission promotes the unique beauty and cultural diversity of Africa around the world, and works for the advancement, protection and promotion of film, television and new media content in Africa. The AFC is dedicated to film education, collaboration and networking with all interested parties.
